At around 3:15am on Sunday (March 18th) police officers on mobile patrol came upon an incident that took place on Front Street outside of the Cosmopolitan Night Club.
Upon police arrival at the scene they noticed a large crowd surrounding two men in an altercation. Details are unclear but it appears that the 30 year old victim as a result of the altercation was punched in the face and fell to the ground where it is believed that he hit his head on the sidewalk.
The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the deaths of 29 year old Mr. Demarcvjai Williams as well as 34 year old Mr. Marco Salema – the second and third road fatalities of 2018 – and extends sincere condolences to their respective families and friends.
It appears that the fatal collision involving the two men occurred around 9:30pm Friday, March 16th as Mr. Williams was riding a motorcycle in the eastbound lane of Marsh Folly Road, Pembroke and Mr. Salema was riding a motorcycle in the opposite direction.
The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 58 year old Mr. Anthony Easton and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.
He was found deceased in a Morgan Road, Warwick apartment Friday night (March 16th).
The relevant police personnel as well as an on call doctor attended and processed the scene.
Lieutenant Russann Francis, Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service - The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service Emergency Dispatch Center received a call for a brush fire at 0820hrs in the marsh near the Island Construction grounds.
On arrival we found a large area of brush on fire and spreading due to heavy winds.
We are currently fighting the fire and will provide updates shortly.
Police responded to a report of an incident that took place on Morgan Road in Warwick a few minutes after 11pm on Friday night.
Details are still emerging but it appears that a 58 year old man was found dead in his apartment.
Officers from the Forensic Support Unit are processing the scene and officers from the Serious Crime Unit have been mobilized.
At 9:40pm (Friday, March 16th), first responders attended a report of a road traffic collision that took place on Marsh Folly Road next to the Marsh Folly dump in Pembroke.
Details are still emerging but it appears that a male on a motorcycle was traveling east and collided with another male motorcyclist traveling in the opposite direction.
The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise members of the public to be vigilant regarding deceptive social media accounts impersonating Government officials.
These fake social media profiles are being used to contact individuals and make demands of money for alleged Government initiatives and proposals.
Residents should be aware that this is a scam and are advised to verify any online messages they may receive claiming to be from a member of parliament – by calling the Government of Bermuda on 295-5151.
At last check this morning (March 14th) three of the six people hurt in Monday night’s single vehicle car crash – on Middle Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Clarendon Road – continued to recover at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
The 18 year old woman that was more seriously injured remains in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit while another 18 year old woman and a 19 year old man continued their recovery in stable condition on a general ward.
At last check this morning (March 13th) the medical conditions of the six people injured in Monday night’s single vehicle car crash – on Middle Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Clarendon Road – were as follows:
An 18 year old woman was in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit (passenger).
An 18 year old woman was in stable condition and will be admitted to a general ward (passenger).
Around 10:20pm Monday, March 12th police and first responders were dispatched to a reported serious single vehicle car crash on Middle Road in Smith’s parish in the vicinity of Flatts Post Office.
Details are limited at this time. However, initial information suggests that the vehicle overturned and that as many as five people have been injured.
Traffic diversions are in effect in the area until further notice.
