Residents Reminded to be Vigilant Regarding Investment Scams

The Bermuda Police Service is once again advising all residents to remain vigilant regarding scams that appear to be legitimate investment opportunities.

A recent report to police highlighted a scam involving digital currency, where the website used for trading the electronic cash was found to be fraudulent.

The website address, www.iforexlive.co.uk, has since been suspended.

Community Meet & Greet Clinic in Hamilton Parish on Saturday

The Parish Constable for Hamilton parish, Constable Litanya Smith, will be conducting a community outreach clinic to meet and greet area residents Saturday, June 22nd from 11am until 3pm at the RUBiS Causeway Service Station on Blue Hole Hill in Hamilton parish.

Constable Smith will be joined by Bermuda Red Cross Disaster Manager Mrs. Diane Gordon.

Burnaby Street Collision Update: BPS Pay to Medivac Injured Visitor to U.S.

Comment from the Commissioner of Police Stephen Corbishley – I feel it is necessary to respond in regards to recent articles relating to the collision on Burnaby Street, City of Hamilton at 5:25pm on Monday 17th of June 2019.

This was a terrible incident where an American tourist has been seriously injured.

The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) has responded in making payment to medivac her to receive care for her injuries in the United States.

Reported Missing Person 67 Year Old Lionel Outerbridge Located

The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating 67 year old Lionel Outerbridge.

Mr. Outerbridge was found safe and well around 8:30am today (June 19th) in the area of Front Street and King Street, in the City of Hamilton.

The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 67 year old Lionel Outerbridge.

Mr. Outerbridge is described as brown complexioned, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall of slim build, weighing around 150 pounds.

He was last seen around 10:30am Tuesday, June 18th in the Kent Avenue, Devonshire area wearing khaki pants, a red shirt, and a red Digicel hat.

There is concern for Mr. Outerbridge, as he is understood to be on specific medication.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of 67 year old Lionel Outerbridge is encouraged to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011 at the earliest opportunity.

Visitor Injured in Collision With Police Motorcyclist Stable on General Ward

At last check this morning (June 18th) the 36 year old visiting American woman pedestrian injured in a collision with a police motorcyclist around 5:25pm Monday, June 17th on Burnaby Street in the City of Hamilton was recovering in stable condition on a general ward at the hospital – while the police officer involved had been treated for his injuries and discharged.

It has been confirmed that the police motorcyclist was responding to a call for service at the time of the unfortunate collision.

Collision Involving a Police Motorcyclist and a Pedestrian [Updated]

Around 5:25pm Monday, June 17th a collision involving a police motorcyclist and a pedestrian occurred on Burnaby Street in the City of Hamilton.

Early information suggests that the incident happened on the section of Burnaby Street between Reid Street and Church Street and that the pedestrian involved sustained a leg injury while the police motorcyclist sustained abrasions.

Update: Reported Armed Robbery at Blue Hole Hill Park Sunday

A mother, said to be a 32 year old Paget woman and her son, said to be a 13 year old boy, were attacked by an unknown man at Blue Hole Hill Park Sunday afternoon (June 16th).

Thankfully, neither of them were seriously hurt.

At first it was reported that a girl (daughter) was with the mother and son, but it has since been confirmed that only the 32 year old woman and her teen son were involved in this incident.

Around 5:30pm today (June 16th) police officers responded to a reported armed robbery at Blue Hole Hill Park in Hamilton parish.

Early information suggests that a woman and her two children were walking in the park when they were approached by an unknown man brandishing a bladed article.

Reported Attempted Armed Robbery at Howzat Liquor Store [Updated]

Around 8:40am today (June 16th) police officers responded to a reported attempted armed robbery at Howzat liquor store on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish.

Early information suggests that a lone male wearing a dark coloured helmet entered the store brandishing what appeared to be a firearm and demanded money.
