The Bermuda Police Service is aware of an e-mail which is currently circulating on island warning of a drug being distributed which is targeted at children. The drug is said to resemble a popular type of children’s candy and come in various flavours. The e-mail also states that if this drug is taken, serious illness or death may result.

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 53 year old Frederick Livingstone Gilbert, a St. George’s resident whose lifeless body was found in the waters at Great Bay in St. David’s around 8:45am today. He was pronounced dead at 10:05 this morning by an on call physician.

Around 3pm today, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Blackwatch Pass in Pembroke. Details about how the collision occurred are unclear at the moment; however, it appears that a car traveling in one direction and two rental cycles traveling in the opposite direction collided. The rental cycle riders are visitors to the island.
The Roads Policing Unit continued its traffic enforcement initiative today, issuing tickets to motorists for various offences from 6:40am – 8:35am. The locations targeted include the Paget Traffic Lights and Spurling Hill Junction, Pembroke. Officers also monitored along South Road in the western parishes.
