Further enquires into the incident at the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club were made and the Bermuda Police Service (BPS) can now report the following. Around 1:25am on Sunday, May 31 the Police were called to a reported disturbance at the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club. On arrival there was no sign of a disturbance but it appeared that an after prom party for the graduating class of BHS was taking place at the premises. One of the people at the scene reported a superficial injury and was treated by the attending ambulance crew.
Detective Chief Inspector Antoine Daniels - The Bermuda Police Service would like to provide an update on the investigation into the shooting incidents which occurred on St. Monica’s Road and Court Street on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd May 2009 respectively. As previously reported, 27 year old Pembroke resident Kenwandee Robinson lost his life as a result of sustaining gunshot wounds to his body, while on St. Monica’s Road. A second man was also hit, but his injuries were not life threatening and he has been treated at the hospital and released.
Commissioner of Police George Jackson - Once again the peace and quiet we have come to know and expect has been disturbed by criminals who are determined to upset the quality of life on our island. The series of incidents over the 22nd and 23rd May are a grim reminder of the realities we face as we combat an unprecedented level of criminality. Let me extend the Bermuda Police Service's condolences to the family of Kenwandee Robinson who died as a result of the incident on St. Monica’s Road on Friday 22nd May.
There has been widespread speculation about who might have played a role in the three shooting incidents, including an email circulating to that effect. However, the Bermuda Police Service has made no formal release regarding any persons of interest in connection with these incidents and will not comment further on matters under active investigation.

The Bermuda Police Service would like to inform the public that 24 hour monitoring of CCTV has been out sourced to a local company with effect from Friday 1st May, 2009, on a 3 month trial basis with a view to providing a long term solution.
This arrangement will allow for the dedicated monitoring of CCTV by trained staff so that the CCTV system can be used to its full capacity. This will allow the BPS to utilize CCTV more effectively to prevent, detect and solve crime; we will enhance our capability to keep the island safe.
