At 6pm on Sunday, July 19th Police responded to a sighting in the City of Hamilton area of a 43 year old Devonshire man who was wanted in connection with a report of a home invasion that occurred during the early hours of Saturday morning (July 18th). The incident involved a grievous bodily assault and possession of a firearm.
The Bermuda Police Service is actively investigating an attempted arson that occurred at a Warwick residence in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday, July 21st).
The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 17 year old Chantice Butterfield. She was
last seen around 8:30am on Tuesday and is described as medium brown skinned, 5’ 5” tall, weighing 180lbs with brown hair and eyes.
The Bermuda Police Service is continuing their investigation to identify a black male whose lifeless body was found floating in the waters off Heritage Wharf Bridge in Dockyard, approximately 100 metres from the new cruise ship terminal around 1:45pm Monday.
The Bermuda Police Service is aware of an e-mail circulating which appears to show a picture of Friday’s crime scene on Middle Road in Sandy’s parish.

Around 1:45pm today, Police responded to a report of a man’s lifeless body in the waters off Heritage Wharf Bridge in Dockyard, approximately 100 metres from the new cruise ship terminal. A member of the public initially noticed the man’s body in the water. The victim appears to be a black male. No further information will be released until the deceased’s next of kin has been notified. Foul play is not suspected.
The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 23 year old Shakeya Deroza of Sandy’s parish. The investigation into her death is ongoing and the Bermuda Police Service would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family & friends of the deceased at this time. It is anticipated that an autopsy will be performed on the body of the deceased by a forensic pathologist as early as Monday, 13th July 2009.
Around 3pm today, Police attended a report of a serious assault on Middle Road in Sandy’s parish near the junction with Overplus Lane. The victim, a 23 year old Sandy’s parish woman, was found seriously injured and in an unresponsive state. She was pronounced dead at the scene by an on call physician. No further information will be released until the deceased’s next of kin has been notified.
