East CAT to Hold Community Clinic

The Bermuda Police Service Eastern Community Action Team will be having a Community Clinic tomorrow 27th April. The community clinic is to be held at the St. George’s Esso Service Station on Rose Hill between 12pm and 4pm.

Area residents are invited to voice their concerns at this clinic.

Promoters and Entrepreneurs Encouraged to Attend Meeting to Discuss Liquor Licensing Laws

On Wednesday the 27th of April from 6.00pm-8.00pm the Bermuda Police Service in conjunction with the Liquor Licensing Authority will be hosting a public information session for all entrepreneurs and promoters looking to hold large scale events, parties or concerts.

 In the lead up to the summer months and growing event periods like National Heroes Weekend and Cup Match. The BPS. and L.L.A. are encouraging promoters and entrepreneurs, to attend a meeting to discuss the Islands Liquor Licensing Laws, the plans and measures that the BPS and Liquor Licensing Authority will be looking for from event organizers, the National Plans to streamline the process of holding a large scale events and to have a discussion on ways forward for the island from a legislative and organizational standpoint.

Continued Appeal for Witnesses in Devonshire Collision

Police continue to appeal for witnesses to a serious road traffic collision, which occurred around 12:50pm 18-April (yesterday), on Middle Road near the junction with Christ Church Lane in Devonshire.

The 35-year-old male motorcyclist injured in the collision still remains in critical condition at the hospital's Intensive Care Unit.

Anyone who may have witnessed this collision should contact PC Dave Ward at 247-1788.

Motorcyclist Injured in Devonshire Collision

Approximately 12:50pm this afternoon (Monday, 18th April) Police and EMTs responded to a report of serious road traffic collision on Middle Road near the junction with Christ Church Lane, Devonshire apparently involving a motorcycle, a truck and a car.

Details surrounding the collision are limited at this time. However, the 35-year-old male motorcyclist involved was injured and taken to KEMH via ambulance where he is being treated for suspected head injuries.

The extent of his injuries is not known at this time, but an update will be provided once further information is available.

Traffic was diverted away from the area for approximately two hours while collision investigators processed the scene.

Man Injured in Assault

At approximately 8:40pm on Friday police attended a report in an incident that took place on Happy Valley in Pembroke. Upon police arrive it was ascertained that a man was assaulted by a male with a machete outside Belvins Store on Happy Valley Road and taken from the scene by private car. Details at this point are very limited however an active investigation into this incident is now underway. Police are interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen this incident or who may have any information that may assist in this investigation to call 295-0011 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline number on 800-8477.

Missing Person Nazirah Maddaththir [Located]

The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 17 year old Nazirah Muddaththir. Nazirah is described as light complexioned, approximately 5’4” tall of medium build, with blonde shoulder length hair.

She was last seen wearing black top, gray pants and red sneakers around 6:30pm Thursday, 14th April, leaving the Brangman Home in Devonshire.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of 17 year old Nazirah  Muddaththir is encouraged to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011 at the earliest opportunity.

Update: 7:30pm Tuesday, April 19th - Please be advised 17 year old Nazirah Muddathir has been located and she is safe. We would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating her.

Industrial Accident Victim & Collision Victim Remain in ICU

The 36-year-old male victim, who was injured Wednesday (April 13th) in an industrial accident at a Bermuda Housing Corporation Unit on St. Augustine’s Lane in Pembroke, remains in ICU where his condition is currently listed as stable.

Meantime, the 53-year-old female pedestrian, who was involved in the collision that took place on Tuesday 12-April, in the area of Mullet Bay Road, St. George’s, also remains in ICU where her condition is currently listed as stable.

36-Year-Old Man Injured in Industrial Accident

Around 8:50am this morning [13-Apr], police and first responders attended a report of an incident that took place on St. Augustine’s Lane in Pembroke.

It was reported that a 36-year-old male painter was carrying out work on the roof of a Bermuda Housing Corporation rental unit, when the ladder he was working from became unsteady. As a result, the male fell approximately 25 to 35 feet to the ground.

The 36-year-old was transported to the hospital where he is being treated for his injuries, and the seriousness of his injuries are unknown at this point in time.

Taiwan Smith Named As Year's Fourth Road Traffic Fatality

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 38 year-old Taiwan Smith of Pembroke Parish.

Shortly after midnight on Monday 11-April, Mr. Smith was traveling on a motorcycle in the area of Flatts Bridge Smiths Parish, when he was involved in a collision and thrown from the cycle causing him to go over Flatts Bridge and land in the water.

Marine police along with several private vessels carried out an extensive search in the waters surrounding the Flatts Bridge area, which eventually led to the recovery of Mr. Smith’s body.

Motorcyclist Involved in Flatts Bridge Collision Year's Fourth Road Fatality

Around 12:13am this morning [11-Apr], police and other first responders attended a report of an incident that took place on North Shore Road in Smith’s, in the area of Flatts Bridge.

Details are still limited, however it is believed that a 38-year-old man was traveling on a motorcycle in the area, when he was involved in a collision and thrown from the cycle causing him to go over Flatts Bridge and land in the water. Originally, the individual involved was said to be 39 years of age.
