Reported Single Vehicle Damage Only Van Crash in Pembroke

Around 11pm Monday, April 30th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported single vehicle damage only van crash on St. John’s Road in Pembroke.

Initial information suggests that the vehicle involved was being driven along St. John’s Road when it struck a wall between Pitts Bay Road and Cox’s Hill Road, ending up on its side.

Reported Single Vehicle Crash in Hamilton Parish [Updated]

At 9:46am today (April 30th) police and other first responders attended a report of a road traffic collision that took place on Harrington Sound Road in the area of Quarry Road, Hamilton parish. 

It appears that the driver of a Works & Engineering industrial waste truck was traveling north on Harrington Sound Road when he apparently lost control of the vehicle and struck a wall of a private residence, with the truck coming to a stop on the premises.

Inquiries Continue After Rider Hurt in Collision With Car Friday [Updated]

At last check this afternoon (April 29th) the livery (50cc) cycle rider hurt in a collision with a car at the junction of Middle Road and Belmont Hills Drive in Warwick around 12 noon Friday, April 27th – believed to be a 44 year old Sandys parish man – was apparently still receiving treatment at the hospital for injuries initially described as serious, but not life threatening.

An update on his condition will be provided in due course.

Reported Collision in Warwick: Rider Hurt, Car Driver Arrested [Updated]

Police and first responders attended a report of a road traffic collision that took place on Middle Road in Warwick at the junction of Belmont Hills at a few minutes after 12pm today (Friday).

It appears that a 52 year old man was traveling west on Middle Road in a car when it appears that he collided with a 44 year old male traveling on a livery cycle.

Temporary Traffic Restrictions: Elite Triathletes Familiarisation Ride

The motoring public is advised that temporary traffic restrictions will be in effect from 10am Friday, 27th April for an elite athletes’ familiarisation ride of the MS Amlin World Triathlon Bermuda cycling racecourse, which is mainly within the City of Hamilton.

Rider Recovering on General Ward After Tractor Trailer Collision

At last check this morning (April 25th) the female auxiliary (50cc) cycle rider injured in a collision with a tractor-trailer truck on Harrington Sound Road in the area of Sommersall Road, Smith's parish around 2pm Tuesday, April 24th – believed to be an 18 year old Hamilton parish woman – was recovering in stable condition on a general ward at the hospital.

Inquiries continue and any witnesses are asked to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.

Reported Serious Collision in Smith's Parish [Updated]

Police and first responders attended a report of a road traffic collision that took place on Harrington Sound Road in the area of Sommersall Road in Smith's at 1:57pm today (Tuesday).

It appears that a female on an auxiliary cycle was traveling west on Harrington Sound Road when she collided with a SAL tractor-trailer traveling in the opposite direction.

The female was taken via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where she is being treated for serious injuries.

Saturday Traffic Advisory: MS Amlin World Triathlon Bermuda

To facilitate the cycling and running segments of the 2018 MS Amlin World Triathlon Bermuda, the following traffic diversions and road closures in the central parishes (some outside the City of Hamilton) will be in effect from 4am Saturday, 28th April until the conclusion of the day’s events.

The Corporation of Hamilton traffic notice can be found here. A full complement of officers from the Roads Policing Unit will be on duty to assist with traffic management outside the city. However, motorists should anticipate delays and are advised to leave home earlier than usual.

Sudden Death of 62 Year Old U.K. Visitor Trevor Stuart Darks

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 62 year old visiting U.K. national Trevor Stuart Darks and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Mr. Darks was found in an unresponsive state on a grassy area near Church Bay parking lot in Southampton around 8:30am Saturday, 21st April and later pronounced dead at the scene by an on call doctor.

Sudden Death of 62 Year Old U.K. Man [Updated]

Police responded to a report of an incident that took place on South Road in Southampton.

Upon police arrival it was ascertained that a 62 year old English National was found in a non-responsive state in the grassy area of Church Bay parking lot at 8:30am.
