Police Confirm Death of Jason Mello

Police can now confirm the death of 25-year-old Jason Mello who died as a result of a firearms incident that took place on Friday, April 18, 2016, at approximately 7:35pm on Band room Lane in Pembroke. Tomorrow, August 22, police will host a press conference in the Media Room at Hamilton Police Station where they will give specifics of the investigation and officially appeal for witnesses.
Meantime, at 1:40pm on August 20, 2016, police received a report of a death onboard the cruise ship, Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas which was berthed at Heritage Wharf in Dockyard. It was reported that the 45-year-old male American national was found dead in his cabin. His death was certified by the ships' doctor. Foul play is not suspected and the Bermuda Police Service is liaising with the relevant ship authorities.

Police are seeking the public's assistance in locating 16 year old Azrah Smith who was last seen on Monday evening.
He is described as a small framed, brown complexioned male, 116 pounds with a close haircut. He is known to frequent eastern end of the island especially in the St. David's area.
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Azrah Smith is asked to contact police on 295-0011.
2nd Arson Attempt in Pembroke

Police and Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to a report of a fire that took place in the doorway of The Athletic Club in the City of Hamilton this morning (Friday) at 5am.
It appears that someone threw a flammable liquid at the door which resulted in a small fire. The BFRS subsequently extinguished the fire which only damaged the carpet at the front entrance of the establishment.
Police are treating this as a suspicious incident and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen this incident or may have any information that may assist in this investigation to please contact CID on 295-0011.
Attempted Arson in Pembroke

At 3:12am on Wednesday Bermuda Police Service along with Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service attended a report of an attempted arson that took place at # 5 Happy Valley Road in Pembroke. It appears that someone poured a flammable liquid outside of the door and when the occupant opened the door she noticed the area in flames. The fire was quickly however was quickly extinguished by BFRS and no one was injured and an investigation into this incident is now underway. Police are interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area to please contact the CID on 295-0011.
RFC #77 Passing Out Parade

The Passing Out Parade for Bermuda Police Service Recruit Foundation Course #77 took place at 6:00pm on Thursday, August 11th 2016 at Police Headquarters, Prospect, Devonshire. Updated - Police Still Looking To Locate Visitor Omar Davy

The Bermuda Service is still interested in locating 35-year-old visitor Omar Davy, who is wanted in connection with an active police investigation. The female visitor 23-year-old Alicia Cargill has been in contact with police and dealt with. Anyone who may have information on the whereabouts of Omar Davy is asked to call Sgt. Jerome Astwood on 247-1010 or ADI Bhagwan on 247-1031.
Travis Lowe Identified As Ninth Road Fatality of 2016

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 23 year old Travis Lowe who died as a result of a two vehicle road traffic collision that took place on Tuesday July 26th at 3:25pm at the junction of Horseshoe Bay Road and Palm Valley in Southampton.
Death was certified at 10:22pm on Tuesday (August 2nd) and a Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to the family to help them cope in these trying and difficult times.
Confirmation: Death of Dennikia Lambert, 8th Road Fatality of 2016

Police can now confirm the death of 14 year old Dennikia Lambert, who died as a result of a road traffic collision that took place at 8pm on Wednesday evening at Dock Hill and Palmetto Road in Devonshire. Death was certified at 8:20pm by a hospital doctor.
A Family Liaison Officer has been appointed to the family and an investigation into this fatality has commenced. Any witnesses to the collision are asked to contact PC Eli on 295-0011.
Combined Officers’ Mess “Dining Out” His Excellency

On Friday 15th July 2016, the the Governor, Mr. George Fergusson. This is a traditional formal military dinner that is held in honour of the Commander-in-Chief and to mark the end of his tenure in Bermuda. Governor Fergusson will officially end his term and depart from Bermuda on Tuesday 2nd August.
