Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sean Field-Lament – The Bermuda Police Service recognizes that during the weeks leading up to Christmas with the increase in commercial activity there tends to be an increase in associated criminal activity.
I wish to reassure the public that there will be police officers, both in high visibility uniform and plain clothes, patrolling the City of Hamilton, as well as various other locations engaging with shoppers, retailers and motorists to ensure everyone is able to enjoy the festivities in a peaceful and safe environment.

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 68 year old Wilton Woolridge and extends condolences to his family and friends.
Mr. Woolridge was discovered in an unresponsive state inside a St. Mary’s Road, Warwick apartment around 1:30pm Friday, December 2nd.
He was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by an on call doctor at 2:25pm that day.
Investigation: Social Media Threats to Premier

Police are aware of the social media threats to the Premier and his family and have commenced an investigation into the matter. Additionally, the offensive posting has been brought to the attention of the service provider for review. Anyone with any information that might assist police in identifying the original poster is encouraged to contact police on 295-0011 or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.
Commissioner’s Statement Regarding House of Assembly Protest

Commissioner of Police Michael A. DeSilva - This morning a group of persons gathered around the House of Assembly and commenced a protest. Police officers, who were already on scene monitoring the situation, advised those involved that action may be taken if they did not follow lawful instructions. Likewise, the police spoke with protest organizers to underscore the importance of a lawful, peaceful protest. Throughout the morning, in an effort to allow the opening of the House of Assembly, officers engaged with protestors warning them to desist from obstructing the entrances.
Sudden Death in Warwick

Around 1:30pm on Friday, December 2nd police officers were dispatched to a reported sudden death at a St. Mary’s Road, Warwick residence where a 68 year old man was discovered in an unresponsive state and subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by an on call doctor.
No further information regarding the deceased will be released at this time until next of kin have been notified.
BPS Hosts Crime Stoppers Bermuda 20th Anniversary Book Donation

In celebration of their 20 year contribution to bringing offenders to justice, the BPS joins with Crime Stoppers Bermuda to present 8 librarians from our local schools and academic institutions with copies of our BPS books.
Traffic Advisory: Regimental Funeral for Colour Sergeant Whorms

The motoring public is advised that traffic diversions and parking restrictions will be in effect for the regimental funeral of Colour Sergeant Keith Whorms at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity on Church Street, City of Hamilton 11am Friday, December 2nd.
The funeral procession will depart Augustus Funeral Home at 10:35am for the Cathedral via the below route:
Advisory: Reported Willful Damage, Theft From Vehicles

Over the past two days, three incidents of willful damage to cars have been reported in the areas of Harbour Road Paget, Harbour Road Warwick and Cavendish Close, Devonshire.
In all three incidents an unknown culprit broke into the vehicles and searched the interior.
Injury Update: Two Motorcyclists Hurt in Paget Collision Friday Night

Around 6:50pm on Friday, November 25th police and first responders were dispatched to a reported two vehicle collision on South Road in Paget, near the junction with Honey Hill.
It now appears that two male motorcyclists riding in opposite directions collided.
Both were injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.
