Sudden Death

Around 2:30pm on Friday, June 8th police and first responders attended a reported medical emergency at a Southcote Road, Paget residence where a 42 year old man was found in an unresponsive state. He was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by an on call doctor.

There does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances at this time; however an autopsy is anticipated in due course. No further information regarding the deceased will be given at this time.

Investigation Underway Into Dockyard Disturbance

At 3:15am on Friday, June 8th 2012, police officers were outside a popular Dockyard night spot when a disturbance took place in the street involving 15-20 persons. Some of those involved were visitors. As a result, additional police units were called to the scene. In the meantime, officers already at the location dispersed the combatants and made one arrest. After interview, that man was released without charge.

At this time the Bermuda Police Service has not received a formal complaint regarding this matter. One male visitor was injured, but he did not require hospital treatment. There were no other injuries reported and no weapons were brandished.

Joint Effort in Ducking Stool Park Clean-Up

Central Community Action Team Sergeant Scott Devine - On Wednesday the 6th of June 2012 officers from the Central Community Action Team along with our community partners from the Department of Parks attended the Ducking Stool Park, Pembroke area in response to numerous reports of groups gathering, drinking and causing a general disturbance by their anti-social behavior at that location. Update: Sudden Death of Fredericka Fox

Detectives from the Bermuda Police Service Serious Crime Unit are continuing investigations into the death of 41 year old Ms. Fredericka Fox, whose body was found inside the shed of a Point Shares, Pembroke residence, during the early evening hours of Friday 1st June, 2012.

An autopsy has been conducted by an overseas forensic pathologist, and the findings have been shared with the family of Ms. Fox.

The results of the autopsy are subject to consideration by the Coroner thus will not be released publicly; however the Bermuda Police Service is no longer treating this matter as a suspicious death.

Two Men Charged With Kimwandae Walker Murder

Two men appeared in Hamilton Magistrates’ Court today (Monday 4th June, 2012) charged with the premeditated murder of Mr. Kimwandae Walker on Friday 2nd April, 2010.

Members of the public will recall that Mr. Walker was fatally shot as he flew kites with his son and family on the field of Victor Scott School in Pembroke, with other members of the local community.

David Cox & Julian Washington were charged with Mr. Walker’s premeditated murder and using a firearm in the commission of an indictable offence.

Sudden Death of Fredericka Fox

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 41 year old Fredericka Lerelle Fox [pictured]. Around 5:45pm on Friday, 1st June 2012, police and first responders were dispatched to a Point Shares Road, Pembroke premises where Ms. Fox’s lifeless body was found. She was subsequently pronounced dead at that location by an on call doctor. The scene has been forensically examined and an autopsy will be performed by an overseas pathologist in due course.

Investigation into Body Found At Point Shares Premises

Around 5:45pm on Friday, June 1st police and first responders were dispatched to a report of a body found at a Point Shares Road, Pembroke premises.

The lifeless body of a female has since been recovered from the scene and inquiries are underway. No further information regarding the deceased will be given until the next of kin has been notified.

Missing Juvenile: Kawesi Smith [Located]

The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 16 year old Kawesi Smith. The teenager is described as fair skinned, 5’9” tall weighing 129 pounds with brown hair. He was last seen in Devonshire around 9pm Thursday, May 31st wearing a white T-shirt and dark coloured jeans.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of 16 year old Kawesi Smith is encouraged to contact the Vulnerable Persons Unit on 295-0011.

Sudden Death of George Bossert

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 56 year old George Bossert following the notification of his overseas next of kin. Mr. Bossert, a French national and longtime Bermuda resident, was pronounced dead at 11:55am on Tuesday, May 29th.

Inquiries are ongoing into the reported tragic incident that occurred around 5pm on Saturday, May 26th which resulted in Mr. Bossert being taken to hospital in critical condition after he apparently fell off of a wall in the Devil’s Hole Hill, Smith’s parish area and into the waters of Harrington Sound.

Missing Person: Yasvin Jhuboo [Located]

The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 23 year old Yasvin Jhuboo. Mr. Jhuboo is described as of Asian descent, small build, brown skinned with black hair and earrings in both ears. He was reportedly last seen around 12 noon Monday, May 28th in the area of Reid Street in the City of Hamilton.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of 23 year old Yasvin Jhuboo is encouraged to contact the Vulnerable Persons Unit on 295-0011 at the earliest opportunity.
