Visitor Injured in Smith's Parish Collision in ICU

A 45 year old Pennsylvania man involved in the road traffic accident that took place on North Shore Road yesterday is listed in serious but stable condition in the ICU and he is expected to be air-ambulanced off island to receive further treatment. The circumstances are as follows: At approximately 5:27 pm, first responders attended a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision that took place on North Shore Road near Police Beach and Jennings Lane in Smiths. Details are still unclear however it appears that a 45 year old male visitor, from Pennsylvania, lost control of his rental cycle and collided with a wall. The visitor was taken to KEMH where he is being treated for serious head injuries. Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone who may have seen the collision can contact 295-0011.
