Twelve New Constables Join Bermuda Reserve Police

The Bermuda Police Service is pleased to announce that twelve new Constables joined the Bermuda Reserve Police at a 7pm Passing Out Ceremony held Thursday, April 16th in the Police Recreation Club hall, Prospect Devonshire.

The new Reserve officers completed a 13 week training course, held two evenings a week for three hours each, consisting of various core competencies.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Paul Wright, Commandant Cannoth Roberts and Deputy Commandant Ron-Michel Davis delivered remarks to the assembled colleagues, family and friends that filled the hall. The twelve new Reserve officers are:

Reserve Constable 1533 Gallage Amaradasa

Reserve Constable 1539 Jeffrey DeSilva

Reserve Constable 1540 Ingrid Pitt

Reserve Constable 1541 Leslie-Ann Rochester

Reserve Constable 1542 Christina Roberts

Reserve Constable 1543 Duval Robinson

Reserve Constable 1544 Jamali Smith

Reserve Constable 1545 Sekia James

Reserve Constable 1546 Jaret Walker

Reserve Constable 1547 Susie Williams-Stovell

The Baton of Honour, awarded to the outstanding student officer, was presented to Reserve Constable 1539 Jeffrey DeSilva.

Retiring Reserve Sergeant 1246 Helene Benjamin was also recognized at the ceremony for her 18 years of service to the community.

Reflecting on her time as a voluntary police officer, Ms. Benjamin declared that she enjoyed her time working in various departments within the Reserves - especially when she had the opportunity to organise community events such as Harbour Nights - and indicated that she would still be willing to assist with social events in the future.
