Reported Serious Two Motorcycle Collision in Paget

Around 10:15pm on Wednesday, August 31st first responders were dispatched to a reported serious two motorcycle collision on South Road in Paget in the vicinity of the Paget stop lights.

Details remain limited at this time but both riders, a 26 year old Pembroke man and a 21 year old Hamilton parish man, were injured and taken to hospital for treatment.

Both were later discharged. Traffic was diverted while the scene was processed and inquiries continue.

Any witnesses should contact the Roads Policing Unit on 247-1788.

Advisory: Fraudulent Land Tax Phone Calls

The Bermuda Police Service and the Office of the Tax Commissioner would like to advise members of the public to ignore any phone calls they may receive regarding payment of overdue land tax.

We are aware that some residents have already received calls from unknown persons claiming to be with the Office of the Tax Commissioner or the Bermuda Police Service.

These callers demand payment of overdue land tax within two hours to avoid arrest.

This is a scam and if such a call is received, no payment details or personal information should be given.

Reported Missing Teenager: Rhiona Beek [Located]

The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 15 year old Rhiona Beek of Harrington Sound Road, Smith’s parish.

Rhiona is described as light brown complexioned, 5 feet 3 inches tall of medium build, weighing approximately 150 pounds with brown eyes and curly highlighted honey blonde hair. She also has a tattoo on her arm and sometimes wears glasses.

The teen was last seen around 10am Tuesday, August 30th at her Harrington Sound residence wearing black shorts and a black top with green and black sneakers.

Rhiona usually travels by foot or on the bus and is known to frequent the Cotswold Lane, Smith’s parish area as well as the Court Street and Princess Street areas of Pembroke.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of 15 year old Rhiona Beek should contact the main police telephone number 295-0011 at the earliest opportunity.

Rhiona had been reported missing on Thursday, September 1st, but it has since been confirmed that she returned home later the same day.
