At approximately 9:14pm, first responders attended a report of a road traffic collision that took place at the junction of Front Street and Court Street. Details are sketchy, however it appears that an auxiliary cycle was traveling east on Front Street and the police car was traveling west on the same road and turning right onto Court Street, when the two vehicles collided. The 20 year old St. George's man on the auxiliary cycle was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he’s being treated for chest injuries which are not believed to be life threatening. Presently the scene is being processed by the Forensic Support Unit and Traffic Collision Investigators. Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone who may have seen the collision can contact 295-0011.
Update: The 20 year old St. George’s man injured when the auxiliary cycle he was riding collided with a police vehicle at the junction of Front Street and Court Street in Pembroke around 9:14pm Monday, April 13th was treated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries and later discharged. Inquiries are ongoing.
