Police Motorcyclists Collide During Training Exercise on Frog Lane [Update]

Chief Inspector Hashim Estwick – Around 10:30am Wednesday, April 15th first responders were dispatched to a collision along Frog Lane in Devonshire involving two of our police colleagues, both riding motorcycles.

Both male officers involved have been taken to the hospital for assessment of their injuries.

At present the scene is being investigated by the Traffic Collision Investigator and Forensic Support Unit.

As a result, that section of Frog Lane is closed to traffic until further notice.

The two police motorcyclists injured were assisting with a training exercise at the time of the collision and are experienced riders.

An update on their conditions will be provided in due course.

A full investigation into this matter is underway.

Update: One officer apparently has a broken ankle while the other officer has injuries to his arms and legs, as well as what is believed to be a mild concussion. The injured male officers continue to receive treatment at the hospital at this time.

Both police motorcycles involved were extensively damaged; however no one from the public was injured.

The scene was processed by the Forensic Support Unit as well as the Traffic Collision Investigator and that section of Frog Lane has since been re-opened to normal traffic flow.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding this collision is ongoing.
