Man Seriously Injured in Collision [Updated]

About 3:07am this morning [01-Jan-2016] police and EMT’s responded to a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision on Middle Road near the junction with Frith Farm Road in Paget.

The full details are unclear at this time, however it is believed that a 28 year-old man riding an auxiliary cycle was travelling in an easterly direction when he collided with a wall. The man was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he is being treated in ICU for serious head injuries.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to call the Roads Policing Unit on 247-1788.

Update: At last check Saturday morning (January 9th), the 28 year old man injured when the auxiliary cycle he was riding collided with a wall along Middle Road in Paget, near the junction with Frith Farm Road around 3am Friday, January 1st was recovering on a general ward at the hospital. The investigation regarding this collision continues and any witnesses should contact the Hamilton Police Station on 247-1704.
