Around 3:45am on Saturday 16th of January 2016, police responded to a report of a robbery which occurred in the North Hill, Pembroke area.
It was reported that the 65 year-old victim was about to enter his residence when he has grabbed from behind and forced to the ground by an unknown male suspect who made demands for money. The suspect then robbed the victim of an undetermined amount of cash and other personal items before making good his escape.
The suspect was described as being a black male, approximately 5’8” to 6’ tall, wearing a dark hooded jacket, dark blue jeans and spoke with a Bermudian accent.
An investigation has been launched and police are urging anyone with information regarding this incident to call the Criminal Investigation Unit on 247-1744 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.
Sudden Death of 32yr Old Man
Approximately 11:30pm on Friday 15th January 2016, police and EMT’s responded to a report of a medical emergency in the Cocoa Lane, St George’s area.
It was reported that the victim, a 32 year-old St. George’s man, was at his residence when he became unresponsive. The victim was conveyed to King Edward Memorial where he was pronounced dead a short time later. The circumstances surrounding his death do not appear to be suspicious at this time.
3yr Old Boy Hospitalized After Falling Overboard
Around 4:45pm On Friday 15th January, police and first responders attended an incident that occurred at the North Arm, Dockyard.
On arrival of emergency personnel, it was discovered that a 3 year-old boy who was in the company of other family members, got too close to the edge of the dock and fell into the water. The boy was quickly retrieved from the water by a family member and was conveyed to KEMH for treatment. At last check the boy remained at KEMH where he is being kept for observations, however he is expected to make a full recovery.
