The investigation into the fatal collision that claimed the life of 81 year old Leon Smith continues.
Mr. Smith was critically injured around 1:50pm Monday, June 1st when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a truck at the junction of Cavendish Road and Lane Hill in Pembroke.
He eventually passed away at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit on Tuesday, June 16th.
Witnesses or persons who were in the Cavendish Road, Lane Hill Pembroke area around 1:45pm Monday, June 1st that have not yet come forward should contact Constable Shantia Furbert at the Roads Policing Unit on telephone number 247-1788.
Reported Stolen Blue Peugeot 207 HB Located
The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating a blue Peugeot 207 hatchback bearing license plate number 13354 that was reported removed from outside an Ocean Avenue, Devonshire residence sometime between 9:30pm Sunday, June 14th and 2:30am Monday, June 15th.
The vehicle was later found on Tuesday, June 16th in the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital’s parking lot and returned to its rightful owner.
Jet Ski Collision
Around 5:30pm on Tuesday, June 16th Marine Police officers were dispatched to a reported collision between two Jet Skis in the waters near Hawkins Island.
It appears that both Jet Skis involved were part of a tour and the collision occurred between the local male tour leader - who was injured - and a local male member of the tour group, who was apparently not injured.
The victim, believed to be a 19 year old Southampton man, was taken ashore for hospital treatment of a laceration to his right leg and later discharged.
