The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 25 year old Wilmis Herrera Moreno and extends condolences to his family and friends.
It appears that Mr. Herrera Moreno, a Dominican Republic national, was initially on a 15 foot open boat with four other individuals in the waters surrounding Long Island – commonly referred to as Paradise Lakes – before he encountered difficulty whilst swimming around 6pm Tuesday, May 19th.
CPR was performed on the 25 year old guest worker during transport by marine police vessel and then ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital; however he was later pronounced dead at 7:10pm Tuesday.
A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to assist Mr. Herrera Moreno’s loved ones at this difficult time.
