A nineteen year old male was this morning taken to hospital following a serious road traffic collision involving the motorcycle he was riding and a water truck.
The collision occurred at around 8:18 AM, at the junction of St. Mark's Road and Verdmont Road in Smith’s Parish.
The injured man sustained a laceration and fractures to his face. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
He was attended to at the scene by Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service EMTs and was conscious at the time he was conveyed by ambulance to King Edward Hospital for further treatment.
The driver of the water truck, a sixty-nine year old mate was unhurt.
The motorcycle was extensively damaged while the truck was left with minor front end damage.
The collision resulted in the entire length of Collectors Hill being blocked off for an extensive period while Police Traffic Collision Investigators and other officers processed the scene. It has however, now been re-opened.
